Day 13

Well after much consideration (and exhaustion) we have decided to move Josh to Emerson Hospital in Concord. Actually it was Joe's idea, I can't take any credit. There was no way I was going to last another week of 9 hour days sitting in his hospital room... not to mention the 45 minute drive each way. I actually went and looked at Emerson's Special Care Nursery today. It's really nice - all brand new. I am going to be assigned to a post partum room so I can take naps in the afternoon, watch TV, etc.. I haven't had a nap since the day before he was born! The nursery at Emerson is obvously a lot smaller than BI. It only 6 beds and as of this morning Josh will be the only baby in there! Crazy huh?! I also got to talk with the attending doctor while I was doing my tour. Best part is that Emerson is only 5 miles from our house. To be honest BI really isn't doing much besides feeding him, so why not make it easier on us! So tommorow morning Josh will be arriving at Emerson via ambulance and we will meet him there.

Today was Aunt Trisha's (Joe's sister) day...

Josh had a good day. He had 50cc from a bottle at 4am. His nights feeds are his best. He is definatly a night owl! He nursed for 15 minutes during the day. Then Joe and I always end the day with his 8pm bottle. To our surprise he drank the entire 70cc feed from that bottle. His biggest bottle yet! Things are pretty much the same. We just sit around waiting for him to figure out he needs to eat! His weight is up agian today. He is currently 35 grams away from his birth weight. We have been waiting for him to get to his birth weight for a week now. Emerson is going to keep the same plan and feeding schedule that BI has been following. Josh won't even know he moved closer to home!
